first_imgIn September, ten-piece jazz ensemble Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue played a special performance for live music television program Austin City Limits. The episode recently aired over the weekend on PBS, highlighted by music icon Cyril Neville joining the “Voodoo Threauxdown” for a cover of the The Meters’ “Fire On The Bayou”.Clad in a white, silky jacket, and a tambourine in hand, Neville stepped to the front of the stage as he led the funksters through a high-energy take on the classic, before Troy Andrews aka Trombone Shorty stepped forward to add in a duet on vocals. Neville moved around the stage with ease and swagger at the ripe age of 70, before Andrews stole the show with a roaring horn solo.
