Kiss Me Kate, William Finn & Rachel Sheinkin Reunion and More Set for BSC’s 20th Season

first_img Beyond its main stage, BSC will present Sharr White’s The Other Place from May 21 until June 14, and Working on a Special Day from June 18 through July 6. The company’s musical theater lab will kick off its ninth season with the world premiere musical The Golem of Havana from July 17 through August 9. The new musical features music by Salomon Lerner, lyrics by Len Schiff, with book and direction by Michel Hausmann. Finn’s Romance in Hard Times, with a new book by Sheinkin, will receive a workshop from August 14 through August 31. The Barrington Stage Company’s 20th season will feature the classic musical Kiss Me Kate, Sharr White’s The Other Place, a new work by Mark St. Germain, a reunion of Spelling Bee collaborators William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin and more. The season will open with Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical that shows the backstage and onstage antics of two feuding couples during a touring production of The Taming of the Shrew. It will play from June 11 through July 12. Next up is Hugh Whitemore’s biographical drama, Breaking the Code, which will run from July 17 through August 2. The world premiere of Mark St. Germain’s romantic comedy, Dancing Lessons, starring John Cariani and directed by BSC Artistic Director Julianne Boyd will play from August 7 through 24.
