Multiple arrests made after narcotics investigation

first_imgColumbus, IN—Twelve people are in custody after a Thursday night multi-agency narcotics investigation and warrant service conducted by local law enforcement officers at a Columbus home where officers recovered a large amount of drugs, guns, and currency.Shortly after 10:00 p.m., officers from the Columbus Police Department SWAT Team, which consists of officers from the Columbus Police Department and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, served a search warrant at 2127 California Street after receiving information that the house contained narcotics as well as several firearms.Officers from the Columbus Police Department Intelligence-Led Policing Unit, assisted by Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Diesel and his handler, conducted several traffic stops just prior to the warrant service and arrested the persons below on the following preliminary charges:Jessica L. Boyce, 40, of Louisville, Kentucky: Possession of a Legend Drug Injection DeviceKendra L. Fields, 23, of Columbus: Possession of a Legend Drug Injection Device, Possession of Drug ParaphernaliaMark A. Lang, 34, of Columbus: Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug ParaphernaliaAlexandra J. Calhoun, 30, of Edinburgh, IN : Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Legend Drug Injection DeviceThomas J. Kooiman, 51, of Columbus: Possession of MarijuanaDuring the warrant service at the home on California Street, officers and investigators recovered approximately one pound of methamphetamine, a quarter ounce of heroin/fentanyl mixture, marijuana, several controlled substances, as well as drug paraphernalia, syringes, scales, and drug packaging material.Officers also recovered several long guns including two AR-15 rifles, an AK-47 rifle, four handguns and a large amount of ammunition and U.S. currency. As well as recovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the bedroom of a small child who was not home at the time of the warrant service.The following persons arrested on the preliminary charges below during the warrant service and were incarcerated with a 48-hour hold as the investigation continues today.Raheem A.
