Over 200 Police recruits graduate from Felix Austin Police College

first_imgOver 200 Police recruits graduated on Friday from the Felix Austin Police College, with the grand ceremony of the “Passing out Parade” being held in the vicinity of Tactical Services Unit Square, Eve Leary, Georgetown.At the Passing out Parade for the new recruits who completed courses 341, 342, 343, 344, 10 G and 32 B were congratulated and well wishes for their futures were extended by the various superiors of the Guyana Police Force.Guest Speaker of the event was Police Commissioner Seelall Persaud, who commended the new ranks on their completion of the various courses. He relayed to them that their decision to enlist in the Police Force is a very important one, highlighting that their career in the field of law enforcement will be determined by the decisions they will continue to make in the future.“I want to encourage you, go the side of enjoying your work, go the side of making achievements, getting awards, getting recognition because you are doing the right thing,” he advised.Persaud also told the new recruits that the next step is for them to be deployed, where he hoped they would perform their services in accordance with what they have been trained to do, stressing on the importance of upkeeping the standards of the Guyana Police Force,From right: Assistant Commissioner Dale Alves, Commissioner Seelall Persaud and Senior Superintendent Force Training Officer (ag) R Andries-Junor with the group of best studentssince citizens have become more trusting of members of the Force and feel safe knowing law enforcers are present, as compared to previous times.“You are deployed to stand between the evil we see in the society and the vulnerable that we have so that the evil won’t take advantage. You are being deployed at a time when society is friendlier to the Police and that is not something that comes by chance, we have to work to develop that more and maintain it,” Persaud instructed.In concluding the ceremony, awards were presented to ranks under the titles of “Most improved”, “Runner up”, and “Best Student” for each course, followed by a march parade including all of the new additions to the Force.last_img
