Child Development Centre announces new playground at annual talent show

JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Child Development Centre announced a new playground will be built after years of fundraising.Construction will start in June with the playground to be complete by September.  “The playground will create an engaging outdoor space for children to connect with the natural elements, have fun, build team skills, and enjoy all the benefits of physical activities,” says CDC Executive Director Penny Gagnon.The playground, she says, will feature a log tunnel, gazebo, stepping stones, a log pathway, and even a wooden bridge over an imaginary river.- Advertisement -Ms. Gagnon made the announcement at the annual CDC Talent Show, held at the North Peace Cultural Centre to showcase local talent and celebrate children and families in our community. The signature event is also a major fundraiser for the organization, which for more than 40 years has been providing programs and services to children and youth in our community with special needs.The 2016 Talent Show raised over $65,000 for the CDC, down from $100,000 in previous years.last_img
