HOLLYWOOD – All lanes of the northbound Ventura freeway are now open after a 1950’s-era house traveling aboard a trailer jammed traffic for nearly eight hours Saturday morning. The wide-load trailer carrying the single-story home came to a stop on the right shoulder of the freeway near the Hollywood Boulevard exit around 7 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos said. The house and trailer were moved to the right shoulder at the Cahuenga exit of the freeway at about 2 p.m. The trailer had three flat tires. Villalobos said houses make treks across freeways all the time – they just rarely make pit stops. “It’s not that uncommon to see a house being moved,” Villalobos said. “But it is uncommon for a house to get stuck on a freeway.”last_img
