COUNTDOWN TO CROKER: MASSIVE BLOW FOR DONEGAL AS KARL LACEY RULED OUT

first_imgCOUNTDOWN TO CROKER: Rory Gallagher will have to plan without the services of Karl Lacey following confirmation earlier today that he won’t be fit for Saturday’s clash with Galway. Donegal face Galway at Croke Park on Saturday hoping to get their quest for an All-Ireland title back on track. However, Rory Gallagher will have to make do without inspirational defender Karl Lacey. Lacey picked up an injury in the first-half of Donegal’s Ulster SFC final defeat against Monaghan and was replaced early in the second-half.He wouldn’t be out long-term but he is not available for the Galway game,” Gallagher told the Irish Times.“It’s a huge blow because he had started the Ulster final very well, scoring a point and setting up another, and was in great form.“There is slight damage to the outside of the knee but we’ve known about it since the day of the (Monaghan) game.” Gallagher also dispelled fears over an injury to Michael Murphy.Murphy was heavily strapped during the Ulster final and was ineffective during Donegal’s defeat. However, while Gallagher confirmed Murphy had a slight knee injury heading into the final – he says Murphy is now fully fit to face Galway and came through training fine.  COUNTDOWN TO CROKER: MASSIVE BLOW FOR DONEGAL AS KARL LACEY RULED OUT was last modified: July 27th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:GAAkarl laceynewsSportlast_img
