Also, the Monte restaurant from Rovinj kept the star, which is also a great success. This is the result of a secret tour of Croatian restaurants by professional MICHELIN inspectors, who in 2017 visited restaurants across the country. A new guide for Croatia has been published on Michelin pages, the globally most important and most recognized restaurant guide. “Croatia is on the gastronomic map of the world, which we certainly deserve. New Michelin stars and recommendations to Croatian restaurants are proof that our gastronomic scene meets very demanding international quality criteria. Michelin is a world synonym for excellence in gastronomy, and Michelin labels give excellent promotional potentials that destinations, which include selected restaurants that have thus entered the exclusive circle of the best restaurants in the world, will be able to valorize. The Croatian National Tourist Board will continue to carry out numerous activities with the aim of positioning our country as an attractive tourist destination with a rich gastronomic offer.”, Said the director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Stanicic. With this year’s selection, Croatia has a total of three Michelin-starred restaurants and 55 Michelin-recommended restaurants. Also, this year, for the first time, the Michelin label Bib Gourmand was awarded to four restaurants: Konoba Mate (Korčula), Dunav (Ilok), Vuglec Breg (Krapina) and Konoba Fetivi (Split). It is a label awarded to restaurants that offer quality menus at affordable prices. The inclusion of new restaurants in the Michelin selection is certainly a strong incentive for further continuous improvement of the domestic gastronomic scene, but also a great global promotion of Croatia as a top gourmet destination.
